Method for finding antibodies specific for cancer cells and antibodies found thereby |
abstract |
Antibodies that bind to cancer cells but not to normal cells are identified using a negative selection process. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of collecting antiserum from a subject immunized with cancer cells; contacting the antiserum with human erythrocytes; and recovering a portion of the antiserum that does not bind to the human erythrocytes. Include. In a preferred embodiment, the method of the present invention further comprises contacting the antiserum with an antibody that binds to human leukocytes; and recovering a portion of the antiserum that does not bind to the human leukocytes. |
