abstract An Assisted Location Information Communication System (ALCS) is disclosed. The ALCS comprises a wireless communication device comprising a ground location server and a GPS section. An assisted location information communication device (ALCD) is also disclosed. The ALCD comprises a location section with a GPS receiver and a communication section, the location section being selective between a GPS stand-alone mode and at least one other optional mode to determine the ground location of the ALCD.
