abstract |
The present invention is based at least in part on the discovery that tolerance can be induced by inhibition of CD4 + cells (and optionally CD8 + cells). Thus, the optimized dosing method of the present invention can be used for self or foreign antigens, such as to induce primate tolerance to soluble or cell-bound antigens (eg, allogeneic or xenografted antigens). It is useful in treating primates such as humans by inhibiting CD4 + T cells to induce tolerance to at least one antigen. |
