abstract It is an object of the present invention to reduce the time and labor required for setting a network device, and to easily perform setting according to the position where the network device is installed. First, a device setting device 820 reads a two-dimensional code indicating a MAC address attached to a network device 810a with a camera and reads the MAC address a. Next, the device setting device 820 broadcasts information indicating the host name a and the MAC address a designated by the administrator. The network device 810a receives the host name a corresponding to its own MAC address a, and notifies the DNS server 602 of the host name a. The DNS server 602 registers the host name a and the IP address a assigned by the DHCP server 601 to the network device 810a.
