abstract A separator that can be suitably used for manufacturing a battery having sufficient adhesion between an electrode / separator, excellent swelling property with an electrolyte, low internal resistance, and high rate characteristics. Another object of the present invention is to provide a porous film carrying a crosslinkable polymer, and a battery manufacturing method using such a crosslinkable polymer-supported porous film. According to the present invention, a compound having a plurality of cationically polymerizable functional groups and having a general formula (I) in the side chain is provided. [Chemical 1] (In the formula, R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and n represents an integer of 4 to 9.) A crosslinkable polymer-supported porous film for a battery separator is provided in which a crosslinkable polymer having an oxyalkylene group represented by is supported on a porous film.
