[PROBLEMS] To provide a rubber composition for a base tread capable of suppressing the amount of a component derived from petroleum resources and achieving excellent weather resistance of a tire and low fuel consumption of a vehicle, and the rubber composition for the base tread. A base tread and a tire formed using the tire are provided. A rubber composition for a base tread used for forming a base tread of a tire, comprising a diene rubber, 20 parts by mass or more and 70 parts by mass or less of silica with respect to 100 parts by mass of the diene rubber, and a diene. A rubber composition for base treads, and a base tread and a tire formed using the rubber composition for base treads, comprising 2 parts by weight or more and 15 parts by weight or less of vegetable wax with respect to 100 parts by weight of the base rubber. .
