abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing a long fiber metal matrix composite material capable of greatly shortening the production time and improving the filling rate of matrix metal between reinforcing fibers. A method for producing a long fiber metal matrix composite material in which reinforcing fibers and a matrix metal are sintered by a spark plasma sintering method, wherein the matrix metal powder particles are applied to a reinforcing fiber sheet made of the reinforcing fibers. A metal coating is formed by thermal spraying, a plurality of reinforcing fiber sheets on which the metal coating is formed are stacked, pressure is applied to the stacked reinforcing fiber sheets from the stacking direction, and a pulse current is applied to discharge plasma.
