abstract | A method and system for manufacturing an electronic paper display, particularly a multi-color electrophoretic display, more efficiently and more reliably. A plurality of microcapsules each comprising a display agent and a transparent shell enclosing it are prepared and charged. As the display agent, for example, white pigment particles and non-white (R, G, B, K) pigment particles in which a transparent or translucent fluid is suspended are used. Next, a plurality of microcapsules are attached by suction with respect to the electric charge to form a display layer made of microcapsules on the substrate 102, and the electrode layer 110b is formed so that the substrate 102 is sandwiched between the display layer and the electrode layer 110. 102 is in contact with or in close proximity to. Thus, when an electric field is applied to the display layer using the electrode layer 110b, the display 100 in which the pigment particles inside the microcapsule move is obtained.
