abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method having a more excellent effect of preventing defects such as cracks and pinholes in a coating layer when a stretched gas barrier film having a PVA gas barrier layer is produced by an in-line coating method. An aqueous solution containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin having a 1,2-glycol bond on at least one surface of a synthetic resin film and containing at least one selected from an unmodified polyvinyl alcohol resin or a silyl modified polyvinyl alcohol resin. A method for producing a gas barrier film that is stretched in a uniaxial direction after coating a liquid. The aqueous liquid contains 10 to 1000 parts by mass of at least one selected from an unmodified polyvinyl alcohol resin or a silyl-modified polyvinyl alcohol resin with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polyvinyl alcohol resin having a 1,2-glycol bond.
