abstract | The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a wire material that can improve the drying of borax in a secondary wire drawing step even if an intermediate patenting process is omitted, and enables wire drawing without causing seizure or wire breakage. A descaling step for removing oxides on the surface of a wire, a coating solution attaching step for attaching a coating solution to the surface of the wire, and an extension for reducing the surface of the wire after attaching a lubricant to the wire. A wire step, a step of increasing the processing temperature of the wire, a coating liquid attaching step of further attaching a coating solution to the surface of the wire, and a wire drawing step of reducing the surface of the wire after attaching a lubricant to the wire.
