abstract Provided is a method for suppressing the occurrence of tin-plated needle-like whiskers from a connector or terminal, which is a small-sized and high-density packaging electronic component on which tin or tin-based metal plating containing no lead is applied. . A connector or a terminal 2 on which tin or tin-based metal plating not containing lead is applied is irradiated with ultrasonic waves in a solution 7 in which a reduction reaction field is formed. This method makes it possible to supply connectors and terminal parts that do not generate needle-like whiskers, as in the case of conventional metal plating containing lead, as a simple post-treatment of the plating process and the processing process.
