abstract Cell separation is performed in a cell separation region based on a determination result of an image obtained in a cell sorter cell detection region using a flow path formed on a substrate. A neuron cell and a fibroblast cell are discriminated based on the presence or absence of a notch formed in a line indicating the perimeter of the cell from a substantial image of the neuron and glial cell. Specifically, as one embodiment, the image is treated as an appropriate number of pixels divided in the X and Y axis directions, and each pixel is subjected to binarization processing by comparing the brightness with a predetermined threshold value.
