titleOfInvention | Method for measuring activity of catechol-O-methyltransferase |
abstract | The present invention provides a method for easily and accurately measuring the enzymatic activity of catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT). A method for measuring the activity of COMT by using chlorogenic acid or caffeic acid as a substrate and measuring substrate consumption and metabolite production. When the substrate is chlorogenic acid, the metabolites are feruloyl quinic acid and isoferroyl quinic acid. When the substrate is caffeic acid, the metabolites are ferulic acid and isoferulic acid.
