abstract | A process for separating meta-xylene is constructed by connecting a simulated moving bed adsorption process for producing high-purity meta-xylene having a purity of at least 99.5% and a crystallization process. The simulated moving bed adsorption process (LM3) is operated under less severe conditions and the purity of meta-xylene flowing out of the adsorber is low, generally between 75% and 99%. The apparatus increases productivity (production amount of meta-xylene produced per unit time per unit volume of adsorbent) and is a feedstock rich in ortho-xylene (for example, 10% or more), a solvent for the feedstock The ratio decreases. The crystallization (CD6, CD12) process results in improved yields due to prior concentration of incoming feedstock. [Selection] Figure 1 |
