abstract |
The present invention provides a new fuel cell having a large output / volume ratio, which is capable of meeting the demand for high output while being a fuel cell utilizing fuel combustion. SOLUTION: A plurality of fuel battery cells 16 each having an anode layer 12 formed on one side of an electrolyte layer 10 and a cathode layer 14 formed on the other side are arranged so that the same electrode layers 12 and 14 of adjacent cells 16 face each other. The fuel cell stacks 2 are arranged in parallel and spaced apart from each other, and the distance between the opposing anode layers 12 is within the flame extinction distance of the fuel supplied as a mixed gas with oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas thereto, and the anode The fuel cell includes a catalyst in which the layer 12 promotes catalytic combustion of fuel.
