abstract | The present invention provides a fixing device capable of improving the separability itself between a component forming a nip and a recording material, and greatly reducing the occurrence of abnormal images such as offset and image blurring and the risk of winding jam. SOLUTION: A surface pressure varying member 852 made of a hollow shaft-like foam having a core metal 851 inserted in the center thereof, and a shrinkable surface layer member 854 having the surface pressure varying member 852 inserted therein are provided.
