titleOfInvention | Antioxidant liquid crystal composition |
abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal composition having excellent low-temperature stability, a wide nematic temperature range, excellent heat stability, and high voltage holding ratio at a high temperature, and a low threshold voltage using the same. The present invention provides a liquid crystal display element having appropriate dielectric anisotropy and refractive index anisotropy, a wide operating temperature range, high-speed response, and little change with time in these characteristics. A liquid crystal composition is composed of a compound selected from a series of liquid crystal compounds having a naphthalene skeleton represented by the following general formula, and a phenolic antioxidant is contained in an amount of 5% or less. A liquid crystal composition is provided. (R3 and Z3 represent an alkyl group, L3 and M3 represent a linking group such as a single bond, A3 and B3 represent a phenylene group or a cyclohexylene group, and X4-X9 represents a halogen atom or hydrogen.)
