titleOfInvention Polarizing plate, optical member, and liquid crystal display device
abstract Provided is a polarizing plate having high luminance while maintaining optical characteristics equivalent to those of a current polarizing plate. A polarizing plate comprising a fiber (A), a fiber (B), and an optically transparent resin (C), wherein the fiber (A) is a thermoplastic adsorbed with a dichroic dye. Resin fibers are arranged in substantially the same direction, and the fiber (B) has a sea-island structure composed of at least two thermoplastic resin components, and the cross section perpendicular to the fiber axis direction has a flatness ratio (long (Axis / short axis) is a flat shape of 1.5 or more, and the island structure portion in the cross section perpendicular to the fiber axis direction is substantially polygonal, and is perpendicular to the fiber axis direction of the at least two kinds of thermoplastic resin components. The refractive index difference between the maximum refractive index and the minimum refractive index at a wavelength of 589 nm in the direction is 0.01 or less, and is arranged in substantially the same direction as the arrangement direction of the fibers (A), and the optical transparent resin (C ) Is the major axis direction of the cross section perpendicular to the fiber axis direction of the fiber (A) Refractive index and a polarizing plate are substantially the same.
