abstract | The present invention provides a method capable of stably producing a retardation control agent useful for production of an optical film or the like. At least the following steps 1) and 2): 1) a step of adsorbing molecules of the first organic compound to the inorganic fine particles in the first liquid; and 2) the inorganic liquid in the second liquid that is more lipophilic compared to the first liquid. A second molecule having a group that is more lipophilic than the first organic compound and has a group capable of forming a core of a liquid crystalline compound, part or all of the molecules of the first organic compound adsorbed on the fine particles. A method for producing a retardation control agent, comprising a step of substituting with a molecule of the organic compound. [Selection figure] None |
