abstract Provided is a lithium secondary battery that prevents moisture from entering the battery and deterioration of the exterior material due to hydrogen fluoride that may be generated inside the battery, and is excellent in workability. In a lithium secondary battery in which a power generation element including a positive electrode material layer, a negative electrode material layer, and a layer having a lithium salt electrolyte is encapsulated in an outer package composed of a laminate outer package made of a metal layer and a synthetic resin layer. An absorbent sheet is enclosed with the power generation element in the exterior body, and the absorbent sheet is composed of one or more resin layers including inorganic particles having an acid absorbing function and inorganic particles having a water absorbing function. The absorbent sheet contains at least 5 parts by weight in total of the inorganic particles having an acid-absorbing function and the inorganic particles having a water-absorbing function with respect to 100 parts by weight of the resin.
