abstract | The present invention has excellent color developability for various recording media (plain paper, matte paper, glossy paper, printing paper, etc.), and particularly excellent glossiness for glossy recording media. To provide a water-based ink composition that can obtain an image, has high antiseptic properties, and is excellent in long-term storage stability, nozzle clogging recovery property, and ejection stability. The water-based ink composition of the present invention contains at least an alkylisothiazolone as a preservative in an ink composition including a colorant coated with a water-insoluble polymer as a colorant, and particularly, an alkylisothiazolone.
