abstract An injection device for use with a prefilled syringe is provided. The device is characterized by facilitating the fixing of a protective needle protector to the tip of the needle upon completion of injection by engaging a track and a track follower. The apparatus further includes a tamper-evident overcap that cannot be easily reattached once removed from the apparatus. The injection device features a tubular handle that is grasped by hand and moved toward the injection site to administer the injection. This device is suitable for self-administration of injections. Use of this device is not affected by skill. Since it has a tubular handle that is gripped by one hand, it is designed to be easily used by elderly people and those who do not have much freedom.
