Transformed cells and transgenic non-human animals that co-express mutant β-synuclein and α-synuclein |
abstract |
Disclosed are a transformed cell and a transgenic non-human animal that serve as models for neurodegenerative diseases. Also provided are a method for producing the transgenic non-human animal, a screening method for therapeutic agents for neurodegenerative diseases, and a method for assaying side effects of therapeutic agents for neurodegenerative diseases. The transformed cell of the present invention is one into which a promoter that functions in a host cell, a mutant β-synuclein gene and an α-synuclein gene are introduced. The transgenic non-human animal of the present invention is one into which a promoter that functions in central nervous system cells, a mutant β-synuclein gene, and an α-synuclein gene are introduced.
