An ink composition having excellent adhesion to a substrate and good curing sensitivity and an ink jet recording method using the ink composition are provided. An ink composition comprising a polymerization initiator, a polymerizable monomer, and a phosphoric acid group-containing polymer, wherein the weight average molecular weight of the phosphoric acid group-containing polymer is 10,000 or more and 30,000 or less. An ink jet recording method comprising: ejecting the ink composition with an ink jet recording apparatus; and curing the ink composition by irradiating the ejected ink composition with active radiation.
