abstract An object of the present invention is to provide an analyzer and an analysis method capable of analyzing ubiquinone with good reproducibility. An analyzer 1 for analyzing ubiquinone in a sample solution introduces a sample solution into a liquid feeding section 2 for feeding an eluent at a constant flow rate, and a flow of the eluent sent from the liquid feeding section 2. The sample introduction unit 3 that performs the separation, the separation unit 4 that separates the ubiquinone component from the sample-containing eluent into which the sample solution has been introduced by the sample introduction unit 3, and the target component-containing eluent that is sent out from the separation unit A derivatization unit 5, a detection unit 6 that detects a derivative, and a data processing unit 7 that performs processing based on an electrical signal sent from the detection unit 6 are provided. The eluent contains a color former having an active methylene group, and the reaction solution is a basic solution. [Selection] Figure 1
