abstract |
The present invention relates to an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, and an object thereof is to satisfactorily achieve both reduction of exhaust emission and removal of particulate matter PM. An upstream three-way catalyst that does not contain an OSC material is disposed on an exhaust pipe immediately below an exhaust manifold of an internal combustion engine. A particulate filter (PM filter) 20 that collects particulate matter PM contained in the exhaust gas is disposed downstream of the upstream side three-way catalyst 18. A downstream side three-way catalyst 22 containing an OSC material is disposed downstream of the PM filter 20. [Selection] Figure 1 |
