titleOfInvention | Thermal recording material |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive recording material having extremely high water resistance and excellent printing running property. SOLUTION: A carboxy-modified polyvinyl alcohol and an aromatic monocarboxylic acid or a derivative thereof are contained in a protective layer and irradiated with ultraviolet rays, whereby the carboxy-modified polyvinyl alcohol is cross-linked to exhibit good water resistance. That is, the present invention is a heat-sensitive recording material provided with a heat-sensitive recording layer and a protective layer containing, in order, a colorless or light-colored electron-donating leuco dye and an electron-accepting developer on the support, The layer contains a carboxy-modified polyvinyl alcohol and an aromatic monocarboxylic acid, particularly benzoic acid, or a derivative thereof, and the protective layer is a heat-sensitive recording material subjected to ultraviolet treatment.
