It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for adding fatty acids to amino acids, peptides, and proteins in an aqueous solution by enzymatic means. According to the present invention, a fatty acid ester is enzymatically reacted with an amino acid or an amino acid derivative, a peptide or a peptide derivative, or a protein in the presence of an acyltransferase derived from Streptomyces mobaraensis or Streptomysces luteoreticuli. A fatty acid-added amino acid or a fatty acid-added amino acid derivative, a fatty acid-added peptide or a fatty acid-added peptide derivative, or a fatty acid-added protein is provided.
