abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide a high-reliability and high-quality cylinder that is excellent in volumetric efficiency by allowing a sealing plate to be firmly fixed to a predetermined position of an opening of an outer can without causing a useless space in the battery. A type storage battery is provided. A cylindrical storage battery 10 according to the present invention has an outer can 16 and a negative electrode current collector 15 directly welded, and a sealing plate 17 and a positive electrode current collector 14 are directly welded. An annular groove 16b that protrudes from the outside to the inside of the outer can 16 is formed in a side wall portion of the outer can 16 corresponding to the arrangement position 17. An insulating gasket 18 is attached to the outer peripheral portion of the sealing plate 17 to which the positive electrode current collector 14 is directly welded, and the opening edge 16a of the outer can 16 is caulked to the insulating gasket 18 side.
