abstract | The present invention provides a rubber composition for a tread that is compatible with handling stability, rolling resistance, and workability, which are contradictory in the prior art, at a high level. SOLUTION To 100 parts by mass of a rubber component (A), 20 to 150 parts by mass of silica (B), 1 to 30 parts by mass of a sulfur-containing silane compound (C) having a specific structure, and the amount of aromatic vinyl compound An aromatic vinyl compound-conjugated diene compound having a conjugated diene compound portion having a vinyl bond content of 0 to 80% by mass and a polystyrene equivalent weight average molecular weight of 5,000 to 500,000 as measured by gel permeation chromatography.
