PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel aromatic polycarbonate having good charge transport performance, excellent electrical characteristics such as mechanical strength, charging potential and sensitivity, durability and the like and usable for a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor. In an electrophotographic photoreceptor including a conductive support and a monolayer type photosensitive layer, the monolayer type photosensitive layer has a general formula. An aromatic polycarbonate containing the structural unit (1) derived from a compound having an asymmetric bishydroxyenamine basic skeleton represented by formula (1) is contained.
