In an organic electroluminescence device having an organic layer between a cathode and an anode provided on a substrate, the organic layer has an Ir or Pt complex having a specific imidazole partial structure having an emission maximum wavelength of 480 nm or less. A light emitting layer A containing a phosphorescent dopant includes a light emitting layer A having a light emitting maximum wavelength of 480 nm or less, and a light emitting layer B having a light emitting maximum wavelength of 510 nm or more between the light emitting layer A and the anode, and the organic layer is in contact with the organic layer. An organic electroluminescence element that is laminated without subjecting the anode surface to exposure to the atmosphere after performing plasma treatment on the anode surface.
