abstract | An image forming apparatus having a line head that includes resin mother particles having a diameter of less than 4 μm and an exposure spot diameter on a photoreceptor of 15 to 40 μm enables high-resolution printed images with high development efficiency and small development unevenness. The resulting toner is provided. In a toner containing resin mother particles and silicon oil or fluorine oil, the resin mother particles have a volume average particle diameter of 2 μm or more and less than 4 μm, (volume average particle diameter of resin mother particles) / (resin mother particles). The number average particle size of the oil is greater than 1 and less than 1.1, and the content of silicon oil or fluorine oil is 0.05% by mass or more and less than 2% by mass with respect to the resin base particles.
