abstract | Kind Code: A1 To provide a liquid developer and an insulating liquid that are environmentally friendly, have excellent toner particle fixing characteristics on a recording medium, and have excellent color reproducibility, and also provide such a liquid developer and insulating liquid. An image forming apparatus using the same is provided. [Solution] The insulating liquid of the present invention comprises a sugar fatty acid ester which is an ester of sugar and fatty acid, a fatty acid triglyceride, and a fatty acid monoester, and the fatty acid triglyceride contains an unsaturated fatty acid as a fatty acid component. To do. The content of the sugar fatty acid ester in the insulating liquid is preferably 0.1 to 10 wt%. Moreover, it is preferable that the esterification rate by the said fatty acid is 10 to 100% of the hydroxyl group of the said sugar which comprises the said sugar fatty acid ester.
