titleOfInvention | Charging member, image forming apparatus, and process cartridge |
abstract | A charging member, an image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge capable of obtaining an image with suppressed density unevenness without increasing an AC voltage applied to the charging member or increasing the frequency of the AC voltage. The polymer layer forming the surface of the charging member contains high-resistance fine particles having a volume resistance of 100 times or more and a particle diameter of 0.3 to 6 μm as compared with the conductive fine particles. This makes it possible to form a high resistance region in the polymer layer of the charging member that is smaller than the toner particle size and in which charges concentrate on the low resistance portion. As a result, the charging efficiency is improved, and the image density unevenness of the output image can be suppressed to a level of charging unevenness that is difficult to notice.
