PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generant composition having an increased degree of purification of exhaust gas. [Solution] The gas generant composition which contains basic magnesium carbonate further with respect to a fuel and an oxidizing agent, and content of the said basic magnesium carbonate is less than 20 mass%.
