titleOfInvention | Image forming apparatus |
abstract | There is provided an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a transfer defect in a character or a linear image, in particular, a so-called “collapse” phenomenon in which an untransferred region appears in a character image or a linear image. A toner image formed on an image carrier (11, 12, 13, 14) is primarily transferred onto an intermediate transfer member (50), and then the toner image on the intermediate transfer member (50) is secondarily transferred onto a recording material (P). In the image forming apparatus including the transfer unit for performing the above, the rebound resilience of the intermediate transfer member 50 is smaller than the rebound resilience of the image carriers 11, 12, 13, and 14.
