abstract |
【Task】 HC is used to reduce NOx in the exhaust gas to N 2 with high efficiency in an atmosphere where high concentration of O 2 exists without requiring complicated control of the air-fuel ratio and the like, and the remaining HC in the exhaust gas Remove. [Solution] The present invention resides in a method of purifying NOx contained in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine with a catalyst using HC as a reducing agent, and thereafter removing remaining HC with a catalyst. By performing the purification method while keeping the NOx removal catalyst at a predetermined temperature or lower, combustion of HC is suppressed and NOx removal performance is improved.
