abstract | [PROBLEMS] To provide a novel manufacturing method capable of forming a composite oxide having a further excellent charge / discharge performance for a lithium-iron-manganese composite oxide expected as a positive electrode material that can be substituted for a lithium cobalt-based positive electrode material. . The composition formula includes the following steps (1) to (3): Li 1 + x (Fe y Mn 1-y ) 1-x O 2 (where 0 <x <1/3, 0.05 ≦ y ≦ 0.75) and a method for producing a lithium-iron-manganese composite oxide having a layered rock salt type crystal phase: (1) selected from the group consisting of sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and lithium hydroxide A step of forming a precipitate by making a raw material solution obtained by dissolving a manganese compound and an iron compound in a solvent comprising water or a water-alcohol mixture alkaline with a pH adjuster containing at least one alkali component and a water-soluble ammonium salt. (2) a step of hydrothermally treating the obtained precipitate together with an oxidizing agent and a water-soluble lithium compound under alkaline conditions, and (3) a step of firing the product after the hydrothermal treatment in the presence of a lithium compound.
