abstract Provided is a gas supply device that contributes to the preservation of the global environment while reducing the running cost of magnesium die casting product manufacturing equipment by reducing the amount of combustion suppressing gas used while effectively suppressing the combustion of molten magnesium. thing. SOLUTION: A melting prevention gas (mixed gas) obtained by mixing a cover gas for suppressing combustion of molten magnesium held in a melting furnace 11 and a dilution gas for diluting the cover gas is used. It is the gas supply apparatus 2 further provided with the carbon monoxide concentration meter 22 comprised so that it might supply to, and also detects combustion of a molten metal. When it is detected that there is combustion of the molten metal, the combustion preventing gas is supplied to the melting furnace 11, while when it is detected that there is no combustion of the molten metal, the combustion preventing gas is supplied to the melting furnace 11.
