abstract A gas generator having a simplified structure and preventing gas leakage during operation is provided. An igniter collar 32 to which an igniter 31 is fixed is attached to a housing bottom 22 by fitting a fixing annular groove 51 therein. An annular outer wall 63 forming an annular space 71 in which the O-ring 72 is fitted is thinner than the other wall portions and is in contact with the housing bottom portion 22. When the housing bottom 22 is deformed by the operating pressure, the annular outer wall 63 is also deformed accordingly, so that the distortion is absorbed and gas leakage is prevented.
