abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a coating solution for an electrophotographic photosensitive member, which has high productivity and good liquid stability. Provided are an electrophotographic apparatus and an electrophotographic apparatus process cartridge using an electrophotographic photosensitive member that provides high-quality images having good sensitivity and potential stability and no image defects. In a method for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor coating solution in which an azo pigment is dispersed in at least a solvent, the coating solution is dispersed by a ball mill, and the rotation speed of the ball mill is represented by the following formula (1). A method for producing an electrophotographic photosensitive member, characterized in that the rotational speed is calculated (R / rpm) and V in the formula (1) is in a range of 0.7 ≦ V ≦ 1.2.
