The present invention provides an excellent developing roller having good interlayer adhesion between a shaft and a coating layer and capable of continuously obtaining a high-quality toner image. In a developing roller constituted by directly forming a coating layer having a resin and a conductive agent on the outer periphery of a shaft made of at least an aluminum alloy, the aluminum alloy contains silicon element in an amount of 0.1% relative to the total amount of the aluminum alloy. 2.
