abstract A rolling member and a rolling bearing having excellent characteristics are provided. In a deep groove ball bearing 1, at least one of an outer ring 2, an inner ring 3 and a ball 4 is 0.2 mass% or more and 0.8 mass% or less carbon, and 0.15 mass% or more. 2.0% by mass or less of silicon, 0.3% by mass or more and 1.5% by mass or less of manganese, 7.0% by mass or more and 15.0% by mass or less of chromium, and 0.05% by mass or more and 0. It contains 20% by mass or less of nitrogen, 0.1% by mass or more and less than 0.3% by mass of nickel, and 0.02% by mass or less of sulfur, and consists of the balance iron and inevitable impurities.
