titleOfInvention | Salivary gland duct epithelial stem cells and uses thereof |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stem cell that can be differentiated into a hepatocyte. The present invention provides stem cells derived from salivary gland duct epithelium and capable of differentiating into alpha-fetoprotein positive cells, albumin positive cells, amylase positive cells, insulin positive cells and glucagon positive cells by in vitro culture. [Effect] According to the present invention, stem cells that can differentiate into hepatocytes have been provided for the first time. The hepatocytes of the present invention can be differentiated not only into the liver but also into a plurality of organ cells such as pancreas and salivary glands. The stem cells of the present invention can also be prepared from adults. Moreover, the preparation of cells from the salivary glands has much less risk and burden on the patient than the preparation of cells from the viscera in the abdomen and chest. For this reason, the stem cell of the present invention can be easily prepared from the patient himself / herself who receives the transplantation, and the rejection that becomes a problem during the transplantation can be easily and reliably avoided.
