The present invention relates to a thermosensitive recording material in which a hollow resin particle-containing undercoat layer is provided between a support made of synthetic paper or a synthetic resin film and a thermosensitive coloring layer, and the components of the undercoat layer are not affected even when the thermosensitive recording material is immersed in water. Providing a heat-sensitive recording material that does not elute into water, does not peel even when mechanical strength is applied, and has high sensitivity even at low energy. In a heat-sensitive recording material in which an undercoat layer, a thermosensitive coloring layer and a protective layer are provided on the surface of a support made of synthetic paper or a synthetic resin film, the undercoat layer is a hollow made of a polymer having a crosslinked structure. A heat-sensitive recording material comprising particles, an acrylic resin, and an oxazoline group-containing reactive resin or a carbodiimide group-containing reactive resin as a crosslinking agent.
