Binding to the heptad repeat sequences HR1 and / or HR2 of HadA adhesins on the surface of Haemophilus bacteria, thereby inhibiting the ability of Haemophilus bacteria to infect host organisms or to spread existing infections A compound wherein the HR1 sequence is 71-91 and the HR2 sequence is residues 120-183.
