Provided are an electrode material manufacturing method, a positive electrode material, and a battery that can realize a high discharge capacity and stable charge / discharge cycle characteristics, and that can reduce the cost of a vanadium raw material. A method for producing an electrode material represented by Li x V 2 (PO 4 ) 3 (0 <x ≦ 5) according to the present invention comprises dissolving vanadium oxide (V) in an aqueous solution containing lithium hydroxide.
