abstract | An object of the present invention is to accurately calculate a decomposition rate of a plastic when the plastic contains aluminum hydroxide that is decomposed by a subcritical fluid. According to the conditions for decomposing plastics, aluminum hydroxide alone is decomposed using a subcritical fluid, the amount of weight reduction of aluminum hydroxide alone is measured, and aluminum hydroxide is decomposed. The resulting residue is heat-treated at a temperature equal to or higher than the temperature at which the aluminum hydroxide is converted to boehmite and the plastic is decomposed, and the amount of weight reduction of the residue is measured. The residue obtained by decomposing the plastic containing aluminum hydroxide is heated at a temperature equal to or higher than the temperature at which the plastic decomposes, and the weight of the residue is measured.
