abstract |
An intermediate transfer type inkjet recording method and apparatus capable of improving transferability (transfer rate), fixing properties to a recording medium, and adhesion are provided. A liquid containing an energy beam polymerizable compound and a coloring material is applied onto an intermediate transfer body 16, and then the liquid on the intermediate transfer body 16 is irradiated with energy rays to form a polymer of the liquid. In the ink jet recording method in which the polymer is heated and transferred to the recording medium 24, 99% by mass or more and 100% by mass or less of the energy beam polymerizable compound contained in the liquid is a monofunctional polymerizable compound. The polymer formed in (1) is transferred to the recording medium 24 under pressure while being heated to a temperature equal to or higher than the softening point of the polymer.
